Loan Officer - Commercial RE & Multifamily

Wilshire Finance Partners, a leader in small balance multifamily and commercial real estate bridge loans, seeks talented Loan Officers to help drive new loan volume and portfolio growth.

The Opportunity

Loan Officers at Wilshire have the competitive advantage of working for a portfolio lender. Because we manage the money and the approval process, there is an efficient funding platform for our loan officers and borrowers.

This is a business development and sales role. You are responsible for prospecting, nurturing and selling our loan products and services to borrowers, mortgage brokers, mortgage bankers, bankers, and other parties in the industry. Successful individuals have strong industry contacts to generate deal flow, excellent phone sales skills, the ability to present effectively in person, the ability to manage a robust pipeline and multitask, a strong work ethic and a competitive drive to succeed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prospect, nurture and sell our loan products and services to borrowers, mortgage brokers, mortgage bankers, bankers, and other parties in the industry.
  • Generate new borrowing and referral relationships and opportunities while maintaining and selling to existing relationships.
  • Represent Wilshire with potential borrowers, business contacts and industry associations.
  • Attend meetings, presentations and industry conventions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external rules, policies, and procedures as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Meet and exceed loan origination and sales goals.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Multifamily and commercial real estate lending experience is required.
  • Working book of industry contacts across the United States for referral business highly desired.
  • Excellent phone sales skills.
  • Results driven.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience selling alternative loan products, such as bridge loans, is highly desired.
  • Orange County, California residency preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • California Real Estate Salesperson’s License is required for California transactions.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Salesforce software

Internal Wholesaler - Investment Sales

Wilshire Finance Partners, a leader in real estate-based fixed income investments, seeks talented wholesalers to help drive new relationship development and AUM growth.

The Opportunity:

Internal Wholesalers hold a hybrid internal/external position at Wilshire.  This is a business development and sales role supported by an investor relations liaison to assist with sales administration.  You are responsible for prospecting, nurturing and selling our funds and other investments to independent registered investment advisors (RIAs), wealth managers, institutional investors, and high net worth individuals.  Successful individuals have excellent phone sales skills, the ability to present effectively in person, a strong work ethic and a competitive drive to succeed.

Commercial Real Estate Loan Underwriter

Wilshire Finance Partners is balance-sheet lender specializing in multifamily and commercial real estate lending.

Wilshire seeks an experienced Underwriter with multifamily and commercial real estate loan underwriting experience to join our Orange County, California team.

Wilshire is a non-bank, balance sheet lender focused on originating, underwriting, closing and servicing multifamily and commercial real estate bridge loans from $1 million to $5 million in the western United States, Texas and Florida.

Underwriters at Wilshire make direct and significant contributions to the quality of the loans in our portfolio and are a critical part of our organization.

Position Summary

Wilshire seeks experienced multifamily and commercial real estate loan underwriters who are able to compile, analyze, underwrite and make credit recommendations on real estate secured loan requests secured by multifamily/apartments and commercial real estate.

We seek team members who are experienced underwriters with strong analytical skills, industrious, good communicators, able to manage a robust pipeline and multitask, and able to add value on various levels to the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Underwrite multifamily and commercial real estate loan opportunities.
  • Analyze loan files for accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze and draw conclusions from financial statements, tax returns and additional financial information to determine borrower/guarantor strength.
  • Review historical property performance; including, income, operating expenses and cash flows.
  • Analyze projections and pro forma financial information make informed decisions about future loan performance and the viability of loan repayment.
  • Research and review applicable industry and market trends.
  • Underwrite appraisals and other valuation information to determine the value of the collateral securing the loan.
  • Coordinate, review and assess impacts to the loan and the collateral from third party reports.
  • Communicate and collaborate with loan officers and analysts on findings, needs, conditions, recommendations and conclusions which arise through the underwriting process.
  • Prepare credit recommendations for loan approval.
  • Assist with the preparation of loan documents and managing loan closings; including, reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness and coordinating with settlement agents for the loan closing.
  • Assist with the development and refinement of underwriting and pricing models.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in portfolio management and other company matters regarding portfolio and asset performance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an underwriter at a financial institution or equivalent analyzing and closing real estate secured loans against multiple types of commercial real estate and income property; including, multifamily, office, retail, mixed use, industrial, warehouse, and other income property.
  • Experience in reviewing and analyzing third party reports, including appraisals, environmental, property condition reports, and other reports.
  • Experience managing loan closings.
  • Ability to work on multiple transactions simultaneously and collaborative effectively with other team members.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently to meet closing times.
  • Excellent administration, project management and follow-up skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and solve problems independently.
  • Four (4) year college degree.
